Get the Greatest Hits!!!
The SBB site isn't just much for anything recently. I usually find it a pain to deal with all the static HTML files that the site is comprised of. Mostly the site is kept up for nostalgia, but I did make one update recently. Using some regex magic, I was able to place all the fights into site. So if anyone is still interested, have at it.
It's been ages since a update but I thought it worth mentioning that all the old SBB movies have been uploaded to youTube. For those wanting a bit of nostalgia, have at it.
There's two big news items this week. I just received the materials for the disc case/insert/ink/etc. Thus I'm ready to make copies of SBB: The Ultimate Collection DVD-ROM. For those who don't know what it is, It's a collection of all the movies from the past 5 years of SBB. Besides that the disc also contains this entire website in offline form(as a different way to browse the movies). Finally there are also some other bonus movies which I used to fill up the rest of the disc. If interested, the cost of the DVD-ROM is $5. Those who want to pay via PayPal the button is just below.
$2 is tacked on for the cost of shipping(and the small amount PayPal takes). Make sure include your address on the entry form so that I know where to send the DVD-ROM. And to clarify, this is a DVD-ROM not a DVD Video. Right now, all the old movies I have from SBB are in DiVX format. It's possible to transcode these files to MPEG2(i.e. DVD format) but they would look like shit. Ted and I have talked about making a video DVD down the road but it will take alot of time to go back through all the VHS, Hi-8, and DV tapes, import, and encode them. So until then, this is all we have.
And for those who haven't noticed, the 2004 season movies are back online for the remaining amount of the month. Get them while you can.
After a long delay, I've finally completed the SBB: Ultimate Collection DVD-ROM. Filled with around 140 fights, the website, and other extras, the SBB: Ultimate Collection DVD-ROM chronicles the entire history of SBB from the beginning to current day. With the disc design and case design complete I can start production as soon as I get the materials in. As soon as that happens, I'll post a link for those interested in obtaining a copy.
I decided to post the movies on the webspace I'm given today. I'm doing it partially as a test to see how much bandwidth it will consume. I'm reaching the end of the month and I'm nowhere near the 50GB quota that I'm given each month. So enjoy it while it lasts. It will probably be only a couple of days if my predictions are correct. The only movies that will work are the ones from last year's 2004 season, so don't even bother with the other links. You can find all the movies conveniently on this page.
I apologize to those to didn't get to see boxing in it's full form this Thunder Over Louisville. Perhaps it's because it's fate for not doing it on Sunday, or because every one was a bunch of pussies. Or it could of just been that it was cold and miserable that day. I'm not one to talk myself. I had planned on fighting myself but after being partially hungover, tired, and cold I just didn't feel like fighting. Many people shared the same sentiment. Hopefully, this summer a real event will actually take off.
After a very long hiatus, I'm finally able to get SBB back to the full website it once was. Unfortunately, I do not have the kind of bandwidth to host the movies but at least I can host the full site once again. So everything should work on the site except the movie links. I'll look into what I can do to have some sort of movie links but there won't be any guarantees. As a quick reminder, there will be people boxing at the Riverhouse on the 23rd. Whether it's a huge event depends on who shows up. Regardless, it should be some fun. And lastly, I'm still shooting for a summer release of the SBB Ultimate Collection DVD-ROM. The date mostly depends on my money reserves but I'm hopeful about this date. Peace
After some discussion it has been decided that there will be another boxing event. Sorta. It looks like some little side event called Thunder Over Louisville is going to be taking place at the same time. During April 23rd at the Riverhouse there will be once again people boxing at the Riverhouse. It won't be a full SBB event but it's something for those who have been waiting for another event. On the arrival of that good news comes some other. The SBB site might be back in full glory. Depending on a current situation coming up, I might get a hold of a lot of webspace. If that's the came, you will see the return of the full SBB site. It probably won't mean the movies but I'll look into what I can do. Lastly, I've completed all the work for the SBB Ultimate Collection. Unfortnately, I won't be able to make until I have the money to make it. I'm hoping by summer that will change. That ends the updates for now. See you on the 23rd.
After finally completing the Good Cop, Bad Cop, and a Rogue DVD(go to to my website if interested in a copy), I've been able to turn my attention back to this website. Unfortunately, I'm still poor as shit so it's still going to be awhile before I can get the SBB site back up and running. But on the positive side, I have gotten all the movies from the 2004 season. It's most likely looking like it is the final boxing season. Not that I'm trying to be pessimistic but Steve seems to have put his attention into other matters these days. Thus, no Steve no Backyard Boxing. On the good news front, I am going to release the final version of the SBB DVD-ROM: Steve's Backyard Boxing: The Ultimate Collection and unlike the other cheap versions...this one will have a case and a printer cover on the DVD. I expected to be done with it fairly soon so if interested you can email me about it.
